Minerali Industriali has joined ResponsibleGlass global certification and standards programme.
It is the first time a major mining company has joined ResponsibleGlass, which strengthens upstream representation and ensures the role of raw material extraction, processing and sourcing is embedded within the industry’s sustainability framework.
Minerali Industriali is a global mining group which specialises in the extraction, processing and supply of sands, feldspars, clays and kaolin.
Its clients include Pilkington Glass and NSG.
The group operates 15 production units in Italy, alongside two additional European sites, with operations in Asia and North Africa, and seven production units across Central and South America, holding mining concessions covering more than 3,500 hectares worldwide.
By joining ResponsibleGlass, Minerali Industriali commits to supporting the development of transparent, auditable sustainability standards spanning emissions reduction, circularity, worker welfare and responsible sourcing across the glass value chain — from mine to furnace to finished product.

ResponsibleGlass' international membership includes Jaguar, NSG Group, WE Soda, Ciner Glass, Stara Glass, Arup and the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA).
