Grenzebach Romania has appointed a dual management team to oversee the business as well as the expansion of its Iasi facility.
In March, Silviu Nica and Zina Cristea took over the management positions of Grenzebach Romania, located in Iasi.
They will be responsible for 200 employees, as well as strengthening the glass, building materials, and intralogistics business units.
In addition, they will focus on developing the Iasi site into another manufacturing and engineering centre for the Grenzebach Group.
The site's structural expansions are due to be completed at the end of 2023.
Experienced dual leadership
Silviu Nica and Zina Cristea have been working for the Romanian site of the Grenzebach Group for years.
Their many years of service and experience prompted the management of the Grenzebach Group to appoint Nica and Cristea as dual managers of Grenzebach Romania.
Dr Steven Althaus, CEO of the Grenzebach Group, said: "It is essential for us to accompany our customers reliably on their journey through their markets with profound know-how. Both continuity and an open mind for the world of tomorrow are equally vital for us. I am sure that Silviu Nica and Zina Cristea will ideally complement each other with their know-how and confidently lead Grenzebach Romania into the future.”
Cristea will be responsible for Finance & Business and supporting the HR, IT, and Shipping functions in addition to her role as Managing Director of Grenzebach Romania as CFO.
In addition to his management duties, Nica will have overall responsibility for the site as COO. He is also responsible for engineering, purchasing, logistics, planning, production, quality, and on-site management functions.
Moritz Ückert, the previous Managing Director of the Iasi site, will remain available to Nica and Cristea in an advisory capacity in addition to his future responsibilities as Senior Vice President Global Operations and will continue to support the expansion of the site.
Strengthening the location
Nica said: "We can build on a strong foundation and will continue to write the Grenzebach Romania success story. With our new, local production and development centre, we are the ideal hub for our European core business."
"We are also positioning ourselves as an attractive company and employer in the region," added Cristea.
With the site expansion, Grenzebach is creating around 100 new jobs.
The expansion will be located on a 30,000m2 site directly adjacent to the company's existing location.
The modern production centre will provide generous space for development and service in addition to production areas for the glass, building materials, and intralogistics sectors.
