NSG Group is the first glass manufacturer to join the League of Champions group within the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP).

SPP is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to accelerate the drive towards sustainable supply chains across industries and geographies.

SPP provides tools, knowledge, and a network to enable procurement professionals to embed sustainability into their roles.

The SPP's League of Champions helps steer the movement's direction.

John Wilgar, Chief Procurement Officer of NSG Group, said: "I am delighted to join this committed group of Chief Procurement Officers from peer companies and to collectively drive the future direction of sustainability in global supply chains.

"By joining the League of Champions, we gain access to best practices, research, benchmarking, and a network of experts to help shape NSG's strategy on sustainable supply chains. This step further emphasises NSG's commitment to addressing climate change and improving our world."

NSG Group has agreed to Science Based Targets for CO2 emissions reduction with a goal to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by the year 2030 (versus 2018 baseline).

This target also includes Scope 3 carbon emissions within NSG Group's supply chain.

Currently, the group purchase materials, goods and services from more than 15,000 suppliers globally.

In support of the group's ESG goals, it aims to encourage its suppliers to work towards the same goals it has set itself.

To further strengthen this commitment, the group is preparing a new Sustainable Supply Chain Charter.
