O-I adds to lightweight line

Owens-Illinois (O-I) has added to its line of lightweight wine bottles with the launch of 750ml claret and burgundy bottles.

The new line is part of O-I’s Lean+Green initiative designed to create aesthetically pleasing, lightweight yet durable bottles using advanced manufacturing techniques.

The bottles weigh 14oz (397g) as a result of an improved design that reduces bottle weight and energy consumption.

With this latest addition, O-I North America now offers lightweight wine bottles ranging from 11.6 - 16oz.
