O-I Glass has confirmed the closure of a glass plant within its Americas operations.
It will close its its Portland, Oregon, USA facility by August 5.
About 90 people are impacted by the closure.
According to a WARN notice received by the Oregon Office of Workforce Investments/Higher Education Coordinating Commission, it is a 'large layoff and will occur on August 5 this year.'
The world's largest container glass manufacturing company finalised the plans late this month as part of its Fit to Win initiative.
It will also suspend the operations of one furnace within the Americas segment, which includes plants in the USA, Mexico and South America.
The Portland plant closure will cost the company approximately $45 million.
