Owens Illinois’ (O-I’s) plant in Gironcourt, France hosted a meeting that included senior French government officials.
The meeting was led by the Minister of Transports and the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Elisabeth Borne.
Ms Borne said: “It is always good news when a large business invests in France. You are working with a recyclable material, which is the way to go for the future.”
Owens-Illinois (O-I) said in March 2019 it will invest more than $60 million to expand its plant. It will also recruit 60 new employees.
Plans included building a new furnace for a total of three furnaces at the plant when the expansion project is completed in early 2020.
