Owens Corning has awarded Siemens with its Value Creation Award at its as its preferred supplier at its 5th Annual Global Supplier Event.
The award is given to a company able to create value by reducing costs and improving production efficiencies.
Siemens earned the award for the work done on the Gastonia project, Owens Corning’s new greenfield glass non-woven manufacturing facility in Gastonia, North Carolina.
According to Owens Corning, Siemens delivered value in ways including coordinating OEMs and for the use of a consistent control strategy by OEMs in Europe and the United States.
Siemens also assisted in the creation of project standards and the close coordination of each machinery and system supplier.
“Two years ago, Owens Corning and Siemens entered into a supply agreement for the first time in North America to build an advanced glass non-woven manufacturing line. Since that time, Siemens has demonstrated its commitment to deliver value for Owens Corning through quality, cost and service,” said Suman Raha, GM North America Non-Woven Business for Owens Corning.
