Phoenix Solar has been granted project rights for a 50 megawatt (MW) solar park in Kazanlak, Bulgaria.
In 2009, the company secured project rights for a 20 MW park. However, this new permit details the construction of 10 5 MW projects, which will be eligible to avail the country’s feed-in tariff, which currently stands at approximately €0.248 per kWh.
Construction on the first phase of the project, which is being built on 114 hectares of land belonging to the Municipality of Kazanlak, is scheduled for the end of 2011.
“We have been actively engaged in Bulgaria’s photovoltaic market since October 2009. It is the largest project development ever of Phoenix Solar,” says
Andreas Hänel, Phoenix Solar’s Chief Executive Officer.
