Prof Reinhard Conradt was awarded a DGG Honorary Membership at the 98th Glass-Technology Conference in Germany.

The conference, organised by the Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft (DGG), took place from the 26th to 28th May in Goslar.

It brought together nearly 260 participants from over 20 countries.

Attendees praised the well-balanced programme, engaging discussions and networking opportunities.

Highlights included the welcome reception at the Kaiserpfalz (Imperial Palace of Goslar), the conference dinner, and the DGG awards, along with the recognition of top posters by young scientists.

Prof Reinhard Conradt received a DGG Honorary Membership.

This was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to glass science, long-standing commitment to DGG, and decades of international engagement, including serving as ICG President (2021–2024).

Dr Weniamin Yusim receiving the DGG Adolf-Dietzel Industry Award from Prof Joachim Deubener.

Meanwhile Dr Weniamin Yusim received the DGG Adolf-Dietzel Industry Award.

He was honoured for his work on sulphur-coloured glass, cullet use in production, optimisation of electric melting furnaces, and his role in DGG Technical Committee III "Glass Recycling".

The DGG said: “We want to thank all participants, speakers, session chars, partners and sponsors for their engagement and valuable contributions.

“We look forward to seeing you again at the 99th Glass-Technology Conference in Wurzburg in 2026.”

The DGG Poster Awards.

Amelie Ferbert et al., from the the Universität Bayreuth was awarded first place in the DGG Poster Awards.

Her poster focused on the Development of Cleaning Processes for Chemically Strengthened Container Glass.

Ruihong Cao et al., from the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, and Fatima El Assal et al., from the FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg & TH Deggendorf, received second and third place respectively.
