Russian glass plant Actis has produced the first batch of a new type of glass – a 0.5 litre bottle of whiskey for domestic consumption.
The Rostov-based plant is ready to meet the growing demand for the product.
Due to the devaluation of the Russian ruble currency, the price of imported whiskey has grown by 30%, while consumption has dropped by almost half. In 2015, new state standards for the production of distillates were implemented and analysts predict rapid growth in this segment
According to the Actis plant, market capacity is 18 to 20 million bottles a year. The plant is capable of producing a range of glass and can quickly start production of even the most unusual bottles.
