Glass manufacturer San Miguel Yamamura has completed a batch plant modernisation at its Cavite facility in the Philippines.
The batch plant was originally supplied in 1991 and was modernised in 2006 by Zippe Industrieanlagen.
This time the Wertheim, Germany based company supplied several modern components including a new mixer, two scales, several diverters, dosing trays, an elevator, as well as a new scraping conveyor.
Commissioning of the plant was completed virtually due to travel restrictions caused by the pandemic.
Through the replacement of diverse parts, the batch plant´s electrical control system also received an update. A completely new control cabinet for silo feeding was mounted and installed.
A Zippe electrician continually supported the customer by telephone for the installation of all parts, as well as for the adjustments of e. g. the frequency converter and the balance of scales.
The software test was completed under constant monitoring and error correction via remote access to the visualisation PC and the PLC control system on site.
Due to the time difference, commissioning from Germany was mainly carried out in the early morning and in the Philippines until late in the evening. For this purpose, possibilities such as TeamViewer, Internet chat, and telephone contact were used.
Thanks to the great cooperation between the two companies, together with all contributing persons, the plant now operates to the customer’s full satisfaction.
