Italian glass machinery group Satinal is to invest in a production hub for its Strato Solar solution.
The new division will be the only European manufacturer of EVA, POE and TPO encapsulating films for the photovoltaic industry.
The factory will be located in the Apulia region, in southern Italy and will come online in 2024.
According to Satinal’s four-year business plan, the company plans to house 10 GW annual production capacity and to create close to 100 jobs once fully ramped up.
In its Erba, Italy headquarters, Saitinal’s Strato Solar launched the first Carbon Free and ISCC+ certified EVA encapsulant in 2023.
From 2024, it will start three production lines of its PV Encapsulants with an annual production capacity of 2 GW, corresponding to 20 million sqm of production capacity, dedicated to EVA, POE and TPO solar encapsulants.
The Erba HQ will remain the reference point for the production of Strato glass interlayers for outdoor and indoor architecture.
Three production lines will continue to run for the production of 30 million sqm Strato EVA films to continue to meet the rising demand of its international clients.
Satinal’s business plan also includes an upgrade of its R&D Lab and continuous cooperation with European research centres and universities.
