French container glass manufacturer Saverglass has inaugurated its second Mexican furnace.

The inauguration ceremony of Furnace number 13 took place at its Acatlan facility in Jalisco state, Mexico last weekend.

It is the second furnace the company has launched at the site and the ceremony took place in the presence of Saverglass President Jean Marc Arrambourg and group CEO Loic de Gromard, as well as staff.

The French group opened its facility in Acatlan in 2018.

The new furnace will double production capacity and help meet demand in the Americas.

It had previously said the investment would be for $116 million and would include a 200,000 tonnes a year furnace capable of manufacturing 200 million bottles in three colours: extra-white, antique green, and dark yellow.
