Schott Pharma recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its glass production site in Jagodina, Serbia.
Schott Pharma will invest a double-digit million euro amount in a production site for pharmaceutical drug containment solutions and delivery systems in central Serbia.
Andreas Reisse, CEO of Schott Pharma, said: "With this move, we are strengthening our presence in Europe, improving our competitiveness, and increasing our manufacturing flexibility to meet the needs of our customers in the region.”
Production of ampoules for the pharmaceutical industry is expected to start this year.
This will create 130 jobs with plans for future expansion, including 350 more positions.
The investment will help meet the market demand for injectable drugs and provide high-quality solutions for safely storing and administering medications.
The Jagodina site will produce ampoules that are suitable for storing injectable drugs, such as painkillers, inflammation inhibitors, and anaesthetics.
Other product groups might follow based on market demand.
