Sezal Glass, an Indian manufacturer of architectural glass, has announced expansion plans to invest approximately Rs 500 crore into manufacturing set-ups across India. ??
Its product range following this investment will include security glass, safety glass, fire-resistant glass, acid patterned glass, bulletproof glass and solar glass.??
The company recently sold its float glass business to Saint-Gobain Glass India; a subsidiary of France-based Compagnie de Saint-Gobain; on a slump sale basis for Rs 686 crore.
??“Taking into consideration aspects such as climate, safety and aesthetics, the demand for high-quality, value-added glass is rapidly increasing in India. The value-added glass business is approximately Rs 2000 crores and is increasing at the rate of 30 % per annum. With this expansion plan underway we will have a 15% market share of the value-added glass business in a span of next three to five years,” said Amrrut Gada, Chairman and Managing Director of Sezal Glass.
