SGD Pharma hosted a Suppliers Day this week for approximately 100 glass industry professionals.

Tuesday’s event near Paris, France was a resounding success and brought together major suppliers of the glass industry such as glass technologies, energies, raw materials, logistics, packaging organisations as well as non-governmental organisations including the United Nations, Reforest'Action and key stakeholders of SGD Pharma’s global CSR strategy.

The event aimed to promote sustainable practices and strengthen partnerships towards a greener future.

Mr. Olivier Rousseau, SGD Pharma’s CEO, delivered the opening speech emphasising the company's commitment to sustainability and the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving environmental goals.

Mr. Laurent Millet, SGD Pharma’s Group Quality and CSR Director presented the company’s CSR roadmap and commitments.

Mr. William Ledger, SGD Pharma’s Chief Operations Officer presented the company’s decarbonisation roadmap and commitments.

Representatives from the UN Global Compact Network France shared the United Nations’ vision and priorities with a focus on climate change, human rights, labour standards and anti-corruption.

They also shared in detail the benefits of becoming a member of the initiative and how UN Global Compact's platform and its French network can help to frame a guide to companies despite their size, complexity and location.

Mr. Victor Padoy, Climate and Biodiversity Solutions Advisor at Reforest'Action, shared how it designs and develops a regenerative ecosystem forest, agriculture, coastal and urban projects around the world. Its tree plantation projects contribute to global carbon neutrality.

Mr. Bihag Shah, SGD Pharma’s Group Purchasing Director, summarised at the end: “It is clear that sustainability is not just a trend but a necessity and is one of the most important criteria for SGD Pharma’s supplier selection”.

He also encouraged suppliers to implement sustainable practices in their operations and promoted collaborative efforts for a sustainable future.

At the end of the ceremony, 18 suppliers were awarded a Sustainability Certificate in recognition of their dedication to sustainable business and strong commitment to a better future.
