The Society of Glass Technology (SGT) is holding a conference on Raw Materials for Glass Making in Cambridge, UK on 1-4th September 2019.
The special conference will feature dedicated sessions on particular glass ingredients and the batch as a whole.
Topics that will be discussed include: the problem/inconvenience of iron; the role of alumina in glass; the value of magnesia in glass; the threat/tyranny of CO2 emissions; other emissions, especially NOx; electric melting – the problem solver/saviour and transport – CO2 emissions again!
It will run in parallel with other sessions on glass science and technology, as well as heritage and history as part of the SGT Annual Meeting.
