Global engineering group Siemens is to provide the keynote speech at a forthcoming conference devoted to Industry 4.0 in hollow glassmaking.

The company will talk for 30 minutes at the free-to-attend conference in Lyon in September.

Other speakers confirmed include Roger Knüttel of Germany’s EME group, Daniel Schippan of CM.Project.Ing, Rene Meuleman of Eurotherm, Ulas Topal of Vertech, Erik Muijsenberg of the Czech Republic’s Glass Service, Pascal Laurin of Bosch and Heye International.

The conference takes place alongside the Glassman Europe event in Lyon, which takes place on September 6 and 7.

Alongside the Industry 4.0 conference will be a future trends in glassmaking conference, with speakers including FEVE’s Adeline Farrelly, Glass Futures, Russian container glass manufacturer Ekran and Richard van Breda.

Glass Service will also host a four-day training seminar in Lyon at this time, with a half-day condensed training course taking place at the same venue as Glassman Europe.

Finally, European container glass association FEVE will invite its members from glassmakers across Europe to attend its Policy and Environment meeting at the same venue and same time as the event.
