Şişecam Group's net sales in the first half of 2016 exceeded TL4 billion ($1.34 billion) with a 13% increase year-over-year, and a net profit of TL 390.5 million ($130.9 million).

Şişecam Group is present is many areas of the glass industry including flat glass, glassware, glass packaging and glass fibre, as well as soda and chromium chemicals.

It has manufacturing activities in 13 countries in three continents and sales all around the world. In the first half of the year it produced more than 2.1 million tons of glass, more than 1.1 million tons of soda and more than 1.8 million tons of industrial raw materials.

Prof. Ahmet Kırman, Sisecam Vice Chairman and CEO, said: "The share of our international sales representing the total amount of exports from Turkey and sales from overseas production is 51% in our consolidated sales.

During the same period, international sales volume reached $697 million. Thanks to ongoing efforts to optimise the cost structure and the geographical distribution of production activities, consolidated EBITDA in the first half of 2016 was TL877 million ($294 .1 million).”

Şişecam Group reported total investments of TL578 million ($193.8 million) and continued to support the national economy with an export volume of $338 million in the first half of 2016.

"Our aim is to further strengthen our financial structure by focusing on sustainability in such a way as to support our growth potential in the near future. Efforts to optimise production facilities and the cost structure will continue at an increasing pace, with a special emphasis on increased use of automated systems," Kırman noted.
