Turkish glass manufacturer Sisecam has progressed with its plans to build a glass container facility in Hungary.
A delegation of company executives met with Hungarian ministers this week to discuss the two-furnace glass packaging plant.
Announced in June this year, the first furnace of Şişecam’s first European glass packaging plant investment is planned to start operating in 2023 and reach full capacity by 2025.
Once complete, the facility will have an annual net production capacity of 330,000 Tons. Şişecam’s Kaposvár plant will respond to the growing glass packaging demand of both Hungary and Europe across a wide geography
Its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman, Şişecam, CEO Görkem Elverici, Chief Production Officer, Abdullah Kılınç; and Invesments and Business Development Director Selim Kalkan met with Peter Szijjártó, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Karoly Szita, Mayor of Kaposvár to discuss the project.
