Turkish glass manufacturer Sisecam is to provide two keynote presentations at a conference next month in Istanbul.
The Glassman Europe trade show and conference is focused on the hot and cold ends of glass manufacturing and is targeted at individuals who work in glass production facilities.
Sisecam’s Director of Melting Technologies and Engineering, Tolga Uysal, will provide a presentation titled Sustainable Glass Manufacturing on the opening morning of the event on February 8.
Mr Uysal’s presentation will give a brief overview of Şişecam’s sustainability strategy and will also discuss R&D studies which have supported energy efficiency and the technology transition.
Later that day, his colleague Efe Çağlayan, Sisecam’s Environmental Sustainability Manager, will talk about Glass Recycling and a Producer Driven Recycling System for Glass Packaging in Turkey.
Mr Caglayan has worked for Şişecam for 15 years and as is an expert in the measurement and reporting of environmental impacts of Şişecam, the circular economy, waste management and the management of greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in glass production.
The conference comprises of 19 papers over two days focused on improving efficiencies in glass manufacturing.
Speakers include Turkish glass producers such as GCA, Park Cam and Basturk Cam, as well as industry association FEVE as well as many technology suppliers to the sector.
The trade show includes approximately 70 exhibitors from around the world.
Glassman Europe takes place at the ICEC convention centre, Istanbul, Turkey on February 8 and 9.
