Sorg presented an overview of its modern furnace designs at the International Glass Technology Communication Symposium held in Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, China.
The event was organized by the China Light Industry Information Center (CLIIC) and took place between March 16 and 18.
More than 250 participants joined the symposium, among them about 50 presidents and technical directors from different glass manufactures.
Several technical speeches were held that covered the range from furnace design, refractory materials, glass mould and raw materials.
Sorg’s presentation, delivered by Dr Harmut Hegeler and Tony Zhang (pictured), included mathematic modelling as well as furnace and forehearth technology.
A special topic was emission control, reductions of emissions by primary measures and the performance of Sorg furnaces concerning low emissions.
