The Sorg Group has completed the cold repair and modernisation of a furnace at Ursa Insulation’s facility in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

The oxy-fuel furnace will produce C-Glass insulation wool.

The project was managed and executed by Nikolaus Sorg, EME and SKS, with additional support provided by Sorg Polska.

Nikolaus Sorg led the engineering and equipment delivery, and implemented enhanced safety measures.

EME carried out a modernisation of the external cullet handling system.

This included the supply and installation of advanced processing equipment and a custom-built control cabinet.

The cabinet was designed with an emphasis on long-term performance and energy efficiency.

SKS oversaw the demolition of the existing furnace and was responsible for the steel construction, heating-up, filling and commissioning of the new system.

Sorg Polska handled the refractory and steel installations.

The Sorg Group thanked Ursa Insulation for their continued trust.

It said the plant team’s co-operation and professionalism enabled the project to be completed ahead of schedule and with full customer satisfaction.
