Namibian glass manufacturer Tses Glass is courting European and Asian companies for the development of its new 350 tonnes per day Tses Glass tableware plant.

Tses Glass has signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with European companies including Siemens, Zippe, Grenzebach, MSK, and ghs|glass for the development of its glass manufacturing factories in Tses and has selected Germany-based Sorg for the engineering and installation of its furnace.

“During the month of July and August 2013, I’ve travelled and continue to go back-and-forth throughout Europe and Asia, meeting and discussing with potential partners; which are some of the world’s best engineering and equipment manufacturers for the glass industry,” said Simon Kapenda, Tses Glass, Managing Director.

Plant construction will start in 2014 and will be developed to have four separate glass manufacturing plants in a single location in Tses, Southern Namibia. It will start with a 250 tpd container glass plant, 600 tpd float plant, a 350 tpd tableware plant and a 200tpd ultrathin glass plant.

In July 2013, it signed with Heye International as an EP for its 250tpd container glass and with ghs|glass as an EP for its 600tpd float glass.
