An Anchor Hocking glass plant in Charleroi, PA, USA is set to close with 325 jobs impacted.

Workers at the glass production plant, which makes glass for the Pyrex brand, were told operations at the facility would be transferred to an Anchor Hocking glass site in Lancaster, Ohio.

Glassmaking machinery will also be transferred to the Lancaster site

Employees were told there could possibly be up to 150 jobs available at the Ohio plant.

The Charleroi facility, which operates under the Corelle Brands name, has a rich history which dates to 1893, when it was the Macbeth-Evans Glass Company.

Ownership of the glass factory has changed hands numerous times, with the current owners being New York-based Centre Lane Partners, following its acquisition last year of the appliances division of Instant Brands.

It was also previously a World Kitchen glass plant.

On its website, Centre Lane Partners is described as ‘a private investment firm that invests in the equity and debt of middle market companies in North America.’

Anchor Hocking is a company under the Centre Lane umbrella.
