The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has determined that the US glass industry is not harmed by imports of certain wine bottles from China.

The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) had previously determined that the bottles were being subsidised by the Government of China.

The glass wine bottles subject to investigation are 750 ml glass wine bottles with a finish for a closure such as a cork or screw top.

As a result of the Commission’s negative determination, no countervailing duty order will be imposed on imports of this product from China.

The Commission had investigated after a petition by the US Glass Producers Coalition, which is comprised of Ardagh Glass and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union.

The Commission's findings are available via a 421-page report at https://www.usitc.gov/publicat...
