Verallia has appointed Didier Fontaine as its Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Planning Director.

Mr Fontaine will be responsible for the French glass packaging manufacturer’s finance, purchasing and IT duties. He will also become a member of the Executive Committee.

Michel Giannuzzi, Chairman and CEO of Verallia, said: “I am delighted to welcome Didier onto Verallia’s Executive Committee.”

“His financial and industrial expertise and experience will make a valuable contribution to the deployment of our company’s business strategy.”

Mr Fontaine began his career in corporate and project finance in 1987, while he worked in the banking sector in Canada and Brazil.

In 2012, Mr Fontaine was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Purchasing and IT at Constellium, where he successfully led its IPO on the New York and Paris stock exchanges in mid-2013.

In late 2016, he was appointed as the Administration and Financial Director at Zodiac Aerospace, where he also oversaw IT and Legal.

During his time at Zodiac, Mr Fontaine had a leading role in driving the merger with Safran, as well as reorganising and deleveraging the company.

Mr Fontaine graduated with a degree in Tax and Finance from Sciences Po Paris and holds a Higher Diploma in Econometrics from the University of Lyon.
