Vidrala officially presented the Carbon Footprint Absorption Project implemented at its Crisnova Vidrio plant located in the town of Caudete, Albacete.

Representatives of the Caudete City Council and the Castilla La Mancha Board attended the presentation.

Moisés López, Mayor of Caudete and Carlos Delclaux, President of Vidrala were among the guests who gave speeches during the event.

They proceeded with the symbolic detail of planting a tree in representation of the project presented.

The act makes sure that Vidrala will carry out the planting of 1,338 trees (334 elms and 1,004 hackberries, indigenous species of the area) on plots of 8.36 hectares are property of the Caudete City Council and classified as a green area.

Through its Crisnova plant, Vidrala assumes the care and maintenance of the space for the next 30 years. Total absorption is expected at about 1,045 tonnes of CO2 after the end of the period.

In the second phase of this project, whose agreement is in process, a third land of about five hectares will be reforested.

This means Vidrala will become the stained glass window with the most hectares in CO2 absorption projects in Spain with 13.36 hectares.

In addition, the calculation of the carbon footprint made based on the international standard ISO 14.064, has been registered with the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Consequently, the Crisnova plant has been certified with the national seal of a company committed to the carbon footprint.
