Vidrala is to acquire Chile-based glass manufacturer Cristalerías Toro.

The Spanish-headquartered glass producer said it had reached an agreement with Cristalerías Toro, a glass packaging manufacturer based in Santiago de Chile.

The glassmaker serves customers in the food and beverage segments.

It said: "This operation marks a new milestone in the group's strategy for geographical diversification.

"It reinforces our industrial footprint in Latin America, and provides greater support to our global strategic customers and expands our capacity in a market with a rich industrial, agri-food, beverages and winemaking heritage."

This acquisition is part of Vidrala’s internationalisation strategy, through which the company maintains significant positions in Southern Europe, the United Kingdom and, since 2023, in Brazil.

The acquisition is set to be completed early next year.
