The Mexican glass producer Vitro Glass has appointed Deron Patterson as its new Architectural Market Manager.
Mr Patterson is has worked in the North American glass industry for 19 years. He has spent the last five years as an international sales manager covering Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region.
Ricardo Maiz, Vice President of Vitro Architectural Glass, Mexican Operations, said: “Deron has spearheaded Vitro’s growth in the important Mexico-Latin America region, and he is ideally qualified to take our certified fabricator programme to the next level.
“His expertise will be critical to solidifying Vitro Glass’ leadership position with architects and glazing contractors, and growing the Mexican architectural glass market.”
In his new position at the glass producer, Mr Patterson will direct a team of national architectural managers and support the Vitro Certified fabricators in Mexico. Vitro Certified Network fabricators are supported, audited and certified by Vitro Glass to provide the highest quality of fabricated glass products with accelerated turnaround times to meet project-critical deadlines.
Mr Patterson has previously managed Vitro Glass architectural accounts in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mexico. He has held roles in both domestic and international sales and marketing departments for PPG glass (the former name of Vitro Architectural Glass).
The veteran was a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate since 2010, a member of the US Green Building Council and Sustentabilidad para México (SUMe). He has made hundreds of presentations about the role of high-performance glass in promoting sustainable building at the top architectural firms throughout his sales territories.
Mr Patterson holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Texas State University and a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Southern Methodist University.
