The Mexican glass producer Vitro Glass has appointed Guillermo Martinez as its new Manager of General Marketing.
Mr Martinez has spent his entire 14-year-career with Vitro Glass. His new role will be to oversee customer and channel marketing strategies, lead strategic marketing projects across the United States and Mexico, and promote the use of energy-efficient glass through compliance with regulatory codes.
Ricardo Maiz, Vice President of Vitro Architectural Glass, Mexican Operations, said: “Guillermo has succeeded at every position he has held at Vitro.
“We’re excited to leverage his expertise to enhance our market position in Mexico and to drive our strategic marketing initiatives in that region.”
The veteran was previously a Strategic Planning Manager for the flat glass division and a Strategic Planning and Marketing Manager for the automotive division. He also served as a member of the mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration teams when Vitro acquired PPG’s (former name of Vitro Architectural Glass) flat glass manufacturing and glass coatings operations in 2016 and Pittsburgh Glass Works’ (PGW) automotive original equipment manufacturer in 2017.
Mr Martinez has earned an MBA in Global Business Strategy from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Systems Engineering from Technólogico de Monterrey in Mexico. Mr Martinez also completed the Babson Entrepreneurship Program at Babson College’s FW Olin Graduate School of Business.
He is currently pursuing credentialing as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Associate to further support energy efficiency and sustainable building practices.
