Vitrum has appointed a new Board of Directors for its 2026-2030 term.

The service company has chosen Barbara Antonini as President.

Barbara Antonini is an entrepreneur at the helm of Antonini, a hollow glass technologies company.

She is also Coordinator of the Empolese-Valdelsa Territorial Unit of Confindustria Toscana Centro e Costa.

Speaking about her new role, Barbara said: "I take on this role with great enthusiasm and with full awareness of the responsibility that Vitrum carries for the entire Italian glass industry value chain.

"Vitrum is a legacy built over the years through the commitment of companies and Gimav, and today we have the opportunity to guide it into a new phase of growth.

"We will work to further strengthen the exhibition's international profile, broaden the involvement of every segment of the value chain and create new opportunities for business, innovation and networking for companies.

"We want Vitrum to become increasingly open, attractive and representative of the entire global glass economy.”

Alongside Barbara Antonini, a new board of directors was appointed.

The new Board is composed of:

  • Barbara Antonini, President;
  • Lucia Masutti, Chief Executive Officer;
  • Dino Zandonella Necca, Board Member responsible for external growth and development projects;
  • Nicola Lattuada, Board Member responsible for Vitrum and Internationalisation;
  • Riccardo Vianello, Board Member responsible for Technological Innovation.

One of the main priorities of the new board of directors will be the evolution and relaunch of Vitrum, with the aim of strengthening its role as an international reference platform for the glass economy.

The exhibition will increasingly focus on fostering connections between companies, technological innovation, sustainability, internationalisation and the development of industrial value chains that use glass.

Vitrum aims to build a permanent ecosystem capable of generating value for exhibitors, visitors and stakeholders throughout the entire cycle between editions.

The company also stated that the appointment of Barbara Antonini has strategic significance for the future of the exhibition, strengthening the involvement of the hollow glass sector within the Vitrum project and enabling an even more comprehensive representation of the entire glass industry ecosystem.

They pointed to Antonini's entrepreneurial experience in international markets and her long-standing commitment within the Confindustria system as valuable assets as the company enters a new phase of development and positioning.

Nancy Mammaro, new President of Gimav, also commented on Barbara Antonini’s appointment.

She said: “Barbara Antonini's appointment is a decision of great value for the Gimav-Vitrum system.

“Her entrepreneurial experience, knowledge of the sector and role within the Confindustria system are important assets in supporting the company's growth.

“The new governance structure has been created to further strengthen Vitrum as a strategic asset for the Association and as an international point of reference for the glass industry.”
