Xpar Vision will launch the BlankRobot for container glass forming at glasstec in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The BlankRobot is designed for swabbing and other applications. Compared to traditional swabbing robots, which use 25% lubrication, it only uses 2% lubrication.
For blank mould swabbing, XPAR Vision has partnered up with LubriGlass from Germany. By precise application of its special lubricant, the swabbing frequency is reduced to once per three hours with almost no swabbing impact, which leaves enough time for the robot to execute other functions.
The BlankRobot emits hardly any pollution, which will make the working environment much healthier and safer. The extremely low swabbing frequency and impact means that there is hardly any disturbance to the glass forming process. This allows hot end sensors to spot other process disturbances such as changing glass conditioning, mould wear and ambient temperature more easily.
Its improved measurements will lead to very effective feedback loops and will have a huge impact on the effectiveness of the forming process automation. It will also ensure no disturbance to the glass forming process, as swabbing immediately reduces the number of badly affected bottles. There will also be an impact on the lifetime of the mould material, operator time available for other tasks and robot time for other tasks, such as baffle or deflector swabbing, automatic alignment of delivery and in-section diagnoses.
Xpar Vision will be exhibiting at booth D15, Hall 13 at glasstec 2018.
