Abstract:

CCEP and the glass industry: Reducing our carbon impact

In this keynote session, Charles will take us through the progress that CCEP have made in reducing their carbon footprint to date, and will highlight the more significant challenge in front of them in order to achieve the targets that they announced 12 months ago in their new Action On Climate programme. You will hear about the critical role that packaging plays in their carbon footprint and more specifically, Charles will give his view on both the challenges and opportunities that face the glass industry, as we all look forward to COP26 next month.

Biography:

Charles Richardson is Procurement Director for Metal, Glass and Other Primary Packaging, at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP), the world’s largest Coke bottler, by revenue. He joined CCEP two years ago, following twenty years in the brewing industry.

Charles joined Scottish & Newcastle in 1999 and moved through a variety of supply chain operations, planning, project management and procurement roles, before joining Heineken in 2008. He set up the first global logistics procurement team within Heineken Global Procurement in 2010 before taking ownership of global glass procurement in 2013, a role which he continued until leaving for CCEP in 2019.
